About us
I'm Scott, the person behind Scott & Stitch Co. This business brings together the things that have always meant the most to me: art, self-expression, sports, and the city I call home.
I was raised by my grandmother on the South Side of Chicago. She was a graphic design teacher at Moraine Valley Community College, and her influence is a big part of why creativity matters so much to me. When I think about where my love for art began, I think of her. Having someone with that connection to design raise me made art feel personal. It was something I could explore, learn, and eventually make my own.
I continued that path at Oak Lawn Community High School, where I studied advanced graphic design under Mr. Kenny. Those classes gave me a place to develop my skills and take my interest in design more seriously. Later, working as a graphic artist for Santos Sport Store gave me the chance to put those skills to work and bring my interests in art and sports together.
I've always loved the freedom that comes with creating. Art gives me a way to express who I am, what I care about, and where I come from. Clothing is another way to do that. A design can say something about your personality, bring back a memory, or help you feel more like yourself. That's what draws me to making apparel: the chance to create something that someone else connects with and chooses to wear.
Growing up as an athlete, sports were a big part of my life, and my love for Chicago's teams has stayed with me. That hometown pride is part of who I am and part of what inspires this business. Scott & Stitch Co. is my way of bringing that love of Chicago together with my own creative voice.
This is a small business with a real person behind it, and I appreciate every bit of support. Whether you buy a piece, share the shop with a friend, leave a kind message, or simply take the time to look around, it means a lot to me. Your support gives me the opportunity to keep creating and building something rooted in my story. Thank you for being part of it.
With gratitude,
Scott
